Shark Tank India, the popular reality show, is returning. With the notable exceptions of Ashneer Grover and Ghazal Alagh, the five sharks from the first season as well as a new shark are returning as Shark Tank India Season 2 Sharks. Season 2 promo was released on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022. The Shark Tank Season 2 is expected to release by late December 2022 at Sony Entertainment and Sony LIV.

Beginning in December of last year, the Indian version of the popular Shark Tank programme allowed aspiring business owners to pitch their ideas to the panel of judges. In the meantime, if the judges or the shark are impressed with the founders and business plans, they write checks for a stake in the company. 

The entrepreneurship-focused show, which saw tremendous success in Season 1, is aiming to achieve the same success in Season 2. On Tuesday, Sony Entertainment Television unveiled the first season 2 promo, which includes the majority of the original sharks as well as a new shark. 

The interaction between the sharks and the pitchers, as well as the unique businesses on display, contribute to the show’s allure. According to a Sony release, five Shark Tank India Season 2 Sharks from the first season are returning: Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of, Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boAt), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics), and Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Amit Jain, a new shark, will join them (CEO and Co-founder – CarDekho Group, 

Shark Tank India Season 2 will not feature Ashneer Grover and Ghazal Alagh, co-founders of the financial portal BharatPe and Mamaearth, respectively. Grover’s direct responses would be missed, but Alagh’s absence might turn off her followers who admired her soft-spokenness.

Shark Tank India Season 2 Promo and Release Date 

The advertisement posted by Sony on social media features a woman purchasing groceries from a cart while making fun of the vegetable vendor by claiming that his entire cart is only worth around $70. To the woman’s amusement, the salesperson goes on to elaborately describe his business plan with revenue in collection and claims that the business is truly valued at 70 lakhs.  

The advertisement continues by stating that Shark Tank India, which is currently back for season 2, is to blame for this development. Entrepreneurs, known as pitchers, pitch their business ideas to wealthy sharks on the show in the hopes of receiving funding from one or more of them. 

The channel has not yet provided a date for the Shark Tank India season 2 debut. On Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV, it is anticipated to stream at some point this year, most likely around late November or early December. 

Rahul Dua, a stand-up comedian, will host the programme in place of Rannvijay Singh and attempt to inject humour into the serious business talks.

He also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, which he obtained after attending the Indian School of Business and Finance to pursue an MBA. 

Namita Thapar 

Namita Thapar is a well-known Indian woman’s business owner. She presently serves as Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited’s executive director. 

She was born on March 21, 1977, in Pune, Maharashtra, to Satish Mehta and Bhavna Mehta, and she married Vikas Thapar, an Indian businessman. Jai Thapar and Vir Thapar, her two boys. 

Namita holds a graduate degree in commerce from Pune University, as well as an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. 

Anupam Mittal 

Anupam Mittal, a well-known businessman from India, founded and serves as its chief marketing officer. 

He presently resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, where he was born on December 23, 1974. Gopal Krishna Mittal and Bhagwati Devi Mittal are his parents. On July 4, 2013, he married Aanchal Kumar.

Vineeta Singh 

Vineeta Singh is an Indian entrepreneur and the founder of the well-known cosmetic brand SUGAR. She was born in New Delhi in 1983, and her father, Tej Singh, is a scientist at AIIMS. 

Vineeta married her college friend Kaushik Mukherjee on December 4, 2021, and they have two sons, Vikrant Mukherjee and Ranveer Mukherjee.  

Peyush Bansal 

The founder and CEO of Lenskart, Peyush Bansal is a well-known businessman in India. He was born on April 26, 1985, in New Delhi. 

He attended Don Bosco School in Delhi for his primary and secondary education before studying electrical engineering for four years at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. 

He married Nidhi Mittal on June 12, 2011, and their names are Kiran Bansal and Bal Kishan Bansal, respectively. 

Amit Jain 

Amit Jain was born on November 12th, 1977. He attended St. Xavier’s School in Jaipur for his education and received his degree from IIT Delhi. 

He currently serves as CarDekho’s Chief Executive Officer. He began his career as a software engineer with Tata Consultancy Services in 1999, then from July 2000 to May 2007 he worked for Trilogy as a senior associate, delivery manager, and product manager. 

The first season of the programme sparked India’s economic engine and transformed the way the country saw entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is anticipated that the second season will continue to help aspiring young business owners.
